Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about HolaFly Info eSIM plans and services.
General Questions
What is an eSIM?
An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM card built into your device. It can be programmed remotely, allowing you to activate a mobile data plan without a physical SIM card. You receive a QR code by email, scan it on your device, and the plan is installed instantly.
Is HolaFly Info a legitimate service?
Yes. HolaFly Info is a UK-based eSIM reseller operating transparently and in compliance with UK consumer law. We provide clear information about our plans, pricing, and policies. Our contact details are published on our Contact page.
Do I need to cancel my home SIM to use an eSIM?
No. Most modern smartphones support dual SIM (physical SIM + eSIM). You can keep your home SIM active for calls and texts while using the HolaFly Info eSIM for data abroad.
Device Compatibility
Which devices support eSIM?
eSIM is supported by a wide range of devices, including:
- iPhone XS, XR, and all later models
- Samsung Galaxy S20, S21, S22, S23, and later
- Google Pixel 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and later
- iPad Pro (2018 and later), iPad Air (2019 and later), iPad mini (2019 and later)
- Many other Android devices from Huawei, Motorola, and others
Always verify eSIM support for your specific model on the manufacturer's website.
My device supports eSIM but the QR code won't install
This is most commonly caused by a device that is locked to a specific carrier. Contact your home network and request an unlock. Once unlocked, the eSIM installation should proceed normally.
Can I use an eSIM on a tablet or laptop?
Yes, if your tablet or laptop supports eSIM. iPads with cellular capability (2018 and later) support eSIM. Some Windows laptops also support eSIM. Check your device's specifications to confirm.
Activation & Installation
How long does activation take?
The entire process — from scanning the QR code to having an active data connection — typically takes 2–5 minutes. You need a Wi-Fi connection during installation.
Can I install the eSIM before I travel?
Yes, and we recommend doing so. Install the eSIM before you leave so that you can troubleshoot any issues while still at home. The plan validity begins from first use, not from installation.
What happens when my plan expires?
When your plan expires, your data connection will stop working. The eSIM profile remains on your device. You can purchase a new plan and install it as a new eSIM profile. Plans do not auto-renew.
Plans & Data
How much data do I need?
As a rough guide: light use (maps, messaging, email) uses approximately 200–300 MB per day. Moderate use (social media, occasional video) uses 500 MB–1 GB per day. Heavy use (streaming, video calls) uses 1–3 GB per day.
Can I use my eSIM as a hotspot?
Hotspot/tethering is permitted on most HolaFly Info plans. However, some plans restrict hotspot use or apply a lower data cap for tethered connections. Check the specific plan details before purchasing.
What speeds can I expect?
In most countries, you will receive 4G/LTE speeds (typically 20–100 Mbps download). 5G is available in major cities in an increasing number of countries. In some remote areas, speeds may be limited to 3G (1–10 Mbps).
Support & Refunds
How do I contact support?
Email us at [email protected]. We aim to respond within 24 hours on business days. Please include your order reference number and a clear description of your issue.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. We offer a full refund within 14 days of purchase, provided the eSIM has not been activated (QR code not scanned). Once the eSIM is activated, refunds are not available unless there is a technical fault on our side. See our Policies page for full details.
